Tiberius Pereira

Co-founder, Patient Safety Ireland (PFPSI)

Tiberius has long been an advocate for patient safety and quality in healthcare. Every person is unique and a healthcare team exists to support the patient.  A truly patient- centred approach should mean regarding every patient as an active member of the healthcare team,  in every interaction.  Every patient and service user must be empowered with the knowledge,  skills and confidence to engage as an active partner.

He was a patient representative on the Commission on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance, appointed by the Minister for Health in 2007. He is a co-founder of Patient Safety Ireland (PFPSI), a group of volunteers formed 11 years ago under a World Health Organisation programme.
