David is a physician informaticist with over 15 years experience in developing Electronic Health Records in Ireland. In 2010, while working predominantly in Emergency Medicine he completed a Masters in IT. Now implementing his third generation of Meditech software (Expanse) he was, in 2014, part of the team that brought the first hospital in the UK and Ireland to Stage 6 on the HIMSS EMR adoption model. He has day-to-day experience of electronic prescribing, order sets, remote access to the EHR, voice transcription, documentation templates, consultant engagement and clinical decision support on the Expanse platform. He will speak about real life EHR experience in Ireland as well as specific Meditech AI solutions that offer opportunities to improve clinician efficiency and patient care.
