CIO of the Year recipient, Fellow and Board Member of the Irish Computer Society since 2023, Clare has worked as a lead advisor in digital health, compliance and innovation, specialising in healthcare transformation, AI for healthcare and healthtech compliance to national and international standards including the Eu Medical Devices Regulation, Cybersecurity Act, EU Data Governance Act, GDPR, EHDS Regulation and EU AI Act.
As part of this she lectures on Leading Digital Health Transformation, AI and Cybersecurity at Postgraduate level at the RCSI and as a Supervisor on the MSc Quality and Safety in Healthcare. Clare is also an External Examiner at TU Dublin for the new BSc Health Informatics programme.
Prior to this, Clare held various senior digital health and governance roles across industry and the health service, in the Department of Health, HIQA, and the HSE as National Programme Manager for the Acute Medicine Programme. She holds an MSc in Health Informatics, Postgraduate qualification in MDR and IVDR compliance, and a Bachelor of Information Systems. She is also actively involved in the development of health information standards through her role on the Health Information Standards Committee, building on standards development experience at HIQA on health information and data governance.
