Amyeen Hassanali, MD

Chief Medical Information Officer(CMIO), Fraser Health Authority, British Columbia, Canada

Amyeen completed his Masters in Health Administration at UBC in 2004 and went on to complete his Medical Degree at UBC in 2009 and his residency in Family Practice in Calgary in 2011. He has worked as a hospitalist in Fraser Health since graduating, currently spending most of his clinical time at Royal Columbian Hospital. Amyeen also completed the Sauder Physician Leadership Program in 2017.

The Fraser Health Authority is the largest regional health authority in British Columbia and the second largest in Canada. Serving over 2million people across 20 municipalities, it operates 13 acute-care hospitals and hundreds of community care clinics.

Prior to taking on the role of CMIO in 2019, Amyeen was the Site Medical Director at Ridge Meadows Hospital for 5 years. He is currently leading work around Fraser Health’s Advance project – the MEDITECH Expanse implementation which will bring electronic documentation, computerised provider order entry as well as closed-loop medication management to all FHA hospitals. In his spare time he enjoys golfing and traveling with his family.
