David joined Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in 2015, working as the client results executive for the HSE and voluntary hospital clients in Ireland. Since then, he has worked closely with both client and Oracle Health leadership teams to help deliver Ireland’s first hospitals with extensive electronic health record (EHR) systems, while advising clients on how to develop their digitally enabled strategies, drawing on Oracle global implementation experience and wider product set. He has supported over 10 large-scale digital implementations from ideation through to go live and on-going optimisation.
David became country general manager for Oracle Health in 2019, taking the additional responsibility for supporting and growing the company’s support and research and development presence in Ireland. He has also held a number of Board positions at Oracle Health, for industry representative bodies, and in the not-for-profit sector in Ireland and the UK.
A native of County Wicklow, David originally worked as an economist, advising Irish public service providers on the likely impact on society of an ageing population. Building on this, he worked as a strategic advisor to a number of Irish connected health start-ups and SMEs, before moving to work more closely with Irish healthcare providers.
